In trying to contain the workload involved in putting together To Do, I refused to make any additional artwork for the book. It had to be strickly archives & sketchbooks. However, at times while designing the spreads I found I needed additional elements to make the pages work. So I let myself draw a thing here and there as long as I could do it in Indesign, where strictly speaking I was doing layout work. This was so much fun I used the Indesign-only-rule for some other pieces as well, forbidding myself to draw anything outside of Indesign. Limiting the toolbox is always a fun way to find new solutions. The poster above was pretty straightforward, proceedings for the illustrations below involved more play.
